You can read Jake Perper’s work at Bearsbacker.com: It’s THE Blog for Any Chicago Bears Fan.

“According to the United Football League Web site, former Bears quarterback Rex Grossman will participate in drills in front of UFL head coaches. The Web site quotes a Las Vegas television station, saying that another player, former Texas Tech star, Graham Harrell, will also participate in the drills in a ‘pro day’ in Las Vegas.”

This is the same guy who was the starting quarterback for the Bears in Super Bowl XLI.

It’s just amazing how a guy could drop off like this; I thought for sure someone in the NFL would bring him on as a backup.

Grossman even hired a new agent, Drew Rosenhaus, just to get some attention from the NFL.

Rosenhaus made this statement about Grossman earlier this month:

“Free agent QB Rex Grossman has been training hard on a daily basis and is looking forward to signing with a team in time for OTA’s.”

This is what Drew Rosenhaus had to say about the rumors that Grossman will be trying out in the UFL:

“Rex will be playing in the NFL this season, we have not considered any other leagues. He will be on a NFL roster by the start of training camps.”

I was one of the few Rex supporters in Chicago, but wherever he lands, I wish him all of the best.

Good luck, Rex.
