Chicago Bears Should Be Scared of Aaron Rodgers, Not Brett Favre

Brett Favre is often called the “Bears Killer,” and for good reason.

Favre is 22-10 against the Bears, but since 2004, Favre hasn’t been as dominant against the Bears, holding a 2-6 record.

Now, after he announced his retirement, it seems like Favre will play this season. Though it affects the NFC and the NFC North whether Favre plays, it’s time for Bears fans to start looking at an emerging power in the NFC and NFC North.

Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers.

The Packers, led by Rodgers, went 7-1 in the last eight games of the season, a league best. You have to believe the Packers are coming into this season very confident in themselves, and they should be.

Last season Rodgers was a wrecking ball, throwing for 4,434 yards and 30 touchdowns. The past two seasons he has thrown over a combined 8,000 yards and a total of 58 touchdown passes.

Last season the Bears kept Rodgers from doing too much damage on them, as they only allowed him to throw one touchdown pass in the two games, but the Packers did win both games, bringing Rodger’s career record against the Bears to 3-1.

Rodger’s best game against the Bears came on Nov. 16. He lead the Packers to a 37-3 victory. A game where he threw for 227 yards and two touchdowns.

This season the Packers pack more punch than the Vikings do, even with Favre.

The defense improved significantly during the second half of the last season, and with Rodgers improving every season, proving himself to be a worthy predecessor to Favre, one can’t overlook the talent that has manifested in Green Bay.

Watch out Bears fans. There may be a new and improved “Bears Killer” lurking around the corner.
