The 2009 season was a bad season for the Bears in all aspects of the game, but more importantly, it was a disappointing offensive season for the team.

With all the expectations coming off the Jay Cutler trade, we expected a lot better.

Admit it. We were all drinking the Bears’ Kool-Aid, singing praises of Jay Cutler.

At the end of the year, some of us wanted to drown him in the Kool-Aid.

The 2010 NFL schedule was released today, meaning we are that much closer to the start of the 2010 NFL season. 

Hey, I’ve got to be optimistic…right?

Looking at the schedule, the first thing I did was check out the prime-time games. Normally, I’ll check out the division games after that, but this year, I didn’t. 

I actually looked at the games through our offensive point of view.

What teams we can tear apart and what teams will give us a struggle. I know it’s early to predict the games, so I’m not going to go through every game…yet.

The first game that comes to my attention for this offense is Week One. The Bears host the Lions, a team they destroyed as an offense in two games last season. This is the first chance for Cutler to start off the season right.

I’m confident he will.

The next three games can be brutal for this offense though. A trip to Dallas to face a pretty good Dallas defense led by DeMarcus Ware. Following that up is a Monday Night Football game hosting the Packers.

The Packers defensively gave Cutler fits last season.

And rounding out the first quarter of the season is a trip to take on the New York Giants.

We don’t know what defense the Giants will have, good or bad. Historically though, they have been tough.

The Bears have some teams on the schedule they can tear up offensively though, including the Seahawks, Bills, Dolphins, and Redskins.

All of those teams have the potential to give Jay Cutler and the offense field days.

The toughest game on the schedule in my eyes is the Monday Night Football game in Minnesota.

The Vikings have had one of the top defenses the last three years. Each of those three years, they have stymied the Bears’ offense.

For a successful 2010 season, the Bears’ offense will have to be good. With some of these teams on here, they will be tested. With some, they could have a all-around good day.

We don’t know what’s in store for all these teams on the Bears’ schedule, because of the draft coming up.

But it’s a good way to pass time before football season.
