The Chicago Bears drafted another cornerback with their final selection (220th overall) in the seventh round.

Greg McCoy out of Texas Christian University could make the team because of his contributions as a kick returner.

McCoy reeled in seven interceptions in 48 games. He returned three kickoffs for touchdowns, while averaging an impressive 32.0 yards per return.

The 5’10”, 181-lb corner has the abilities and ran an impressive 4.44 40-yard dash at his pro day.

He is an undersized corner who will have to battle his way onto the 53-man roster through special teams and return contributions.

He could have a tough time making the squad. It might come down to him and sixth-round pick Isaiah Frey for the final cornerback spot.

Look for the Bears to add a defensive tackle and possibly an offensive tackle through free agency.

They will be working hard to add the best undrafted free agents, but don’t depend on those players to fill the voids on the offensive and defensive lines.

Overall, general manager Phil Emery did a solid job in his first NFL draft. He filled most of the needs the Bears were looking to fill.
