Jeffery Suffers Hamstring Injury
Chicago Bears star wide receiver Alshon Jeffery is questionable for Week 14’s Thursday night matchup against the Dallas Cowboys due to a hamstring injury.
Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune provided the news Wednesday:
The third-year receiver out of South Carolina broke out in a big way last season. He became a dynamic complement to fellow pass-catcher Brandon Marshall, and he was named to the Pro Bowl after catching 89 passes for 1,421 yards and seven touchdowns.
Jeffery’s huge leap forward was somewhat unexpected, but perhaps it shouldn’t have been. At 6’3″ and 216 pounds with supreme leaping ability, Jeffery is a matchup nightmare for essentially every defensive back in the league.
There’s no doubt he adds another dimension to Chicago’s offense. His potential absence would obviously be a major blow. Chicago boasts one of the best receiving combinations in football, but there isn’t much depth behind Marshall and Jeffery.
