Bear Miscues Cost Them Against The Falcons

Miscues cost the Bears a shot at beating the Falcons.
The defense for the most part was able to keep most of the Falcons weapons in check and avoid from breaking the game open.
A few big plays by Roddy White and Tony Gonzalez led to touchdowns and kept the momentum on the side of the Falcons.
Matt Ryan played almost flawlessly throughout the game. He responded to pressure, reading the coverage and changing plays almost automatically.
After their first couple possessions the Falcons adjusted to the Bears pressure by going no huddle causing confusing in the coverage assignments.
In the second half the Bears did a good job of adjusting to the Falcons game plan and gave the offense a chance to win.
That’s where things went south.
The offensive line looked out matched in both pass protection and the running game. Jay Cutler was facing pressure even when the Falcons only rushed four down linemen with no blitzes.
It was almost embarrassing to see every member for the offensive line get blown up at some point during the game.
Matt Forte had nowhere to run and would often have a defender in his face as soon as he received the hand off.
The poor performance of the lineman doesn’t justify Forte’s goal line fumbles but they certainly didn’t help.
Something has to happen to fix the problems on the line; the Bears have too many things going for them so far this season to lose it all because the o-line is getting out played.
The Good: Run defense. The Bears held Michael Turner and Jerious Norwood to 51 yards on the ground.
The Bad: The offensive line. They are still not able to open up any holes for the running game and this is the first week they failed in pass protection forcing Cutler to throw the ball earlier than he wanted.
The Ugly: Penalties on the final drive.
The Difference: Red Zone efficiency. Turnovers, miscues and just plain sloppy play cost the Bears in a game where points were hard to come by.
