Bears vs. Cardinals: Chicago Takes Arizona Behind the Woodshed

If Chicago fans were worried about repeating the Lions‘ disaster against the Cardinals this week, they needn’t have been concerned.
The Bears destroyed the Cardinals instead, dropping 21 points in two quarters to the Cardinals’ six and never looked back.
This leaves the Bears’ playoff hopes alive and kicking as we head into the last week of the season where they have a very winnable game against Detroit.
The game was won by good play on both the defensive and offensive side of the ball. While Jay Cutler didn’t have a big game stats-wise, Matt Forte played very well, Brandon Marshall continued to put up his usual fantastic catches and the offensive line kept Cutler upright most of the time.
On the other side of the ball, the defensive backs were stepping up, though there were some unusual names which had an impact.
Yes, Charles Tillman had a pick-six, but cornerback Zack Bowman recovered a fumble for a touchdown and Kelvin Hayden intercepted a pass as well.
The defense needed to get back to the turnover-generating ways that had been a hallmark of it’s play earlier this season. They did that this week and then some.
If there was one downside for the Bears, it was the poor play on special teams as they muffed a punt and had a field goal blocked and returned for a touchdown.
It was an unusual lapse for this team and unlikely to become a trend.
Certainly it didn’t dim a big win for Chicago.
