Bears vs Jaguars: Chicago Offense and Defense Both Dominate Jacksonville

For a little while, it seemed like the same old Bears we’ve seen this season.
The offense misfired and struggled while the defense dominated, including yet another pick-six by Charles Tillman.
The second half showed that the Bears offense is more than capable of scoring on their own.
It’s been hard to get behind this offense so far, as streaky as it’s been. While Brandon Marshall has been playing well the last few weeks (and just had his second straight 100-plus yard game), the rest of the offense has often seemed discombobulated.
Many preached patience, that this team just needs time to fire on all cylinders.
It looks like they may have been right.
The offense is still starting games out too often, especially against a team like Jacksonville whose defense has been vile this year. Too often in the early part of this game, Cutler was once again dealing with defenders in his face.
When the Bears came out in the second half, they looked like a different offense.
The passes came out crisply, and the line gave Cutler time to find his receivers. Matt Forte and Michael Bush continued to run hard, with Forte having tremendous success against a Jaguars run defense that spent most of the game on its heels.
They even found a way to score with Devin Hester again. Hester threw a beautiful move on the coverage which just about left the player on his back, and had no problem getting a touchdown after he caught the ball.
This is the offense you want to see more of, aside from the slow start.
It’s starting to play up to the level of the defense, which has been playing at a high level for weeks. If they can keep it up, this is every bit the dangerous team we expected to see back in August.
As the Bears watch the Packers and Lions both struggling early, their team is in great position to make a run at the division title and much, much more.
