Aside from a garbage-time 80-yard touchdown run against second-stringers, the Bears dominated the Titans from kickoff to final whistle, and this time they did it on both sides of the ball.

Jay Cutler and Brandon Marshall continue to play as if they hadn’t been apart for several years, and Marshall’s three touchdowns have to make Bears fans even more giddy as this team rolls on through the schedule.

With an early lead, the rest of the receivers didn’t do a ton, but Matt Forte had an outstanding day, with 148 total yards, and the offense just looks like it’s ready to pop.

The defense….well, what more can you say about this defense? Opportunistic doesn’t even begin to cover it.

While they didn’t sack Titans quarterback Matt Hasselbeck much, it might have been by choice, at least early on, when the Titans were kind enough hosts to give the defense/special teams two early scores. 

First there was a blocked punt by Corey Wooten, which he returned for a touchdown, followed by an interception for a touchdown by none other than Brian Urlacher.

The defense that allowed Chris Johnson’s big play were largely backups, so you can continue to consider this the best run defense in the league. They’ll get tested in the coming weeks with a murderers row of Arian Foster, Frank Gore, Adrian Peterson (twice in three games) and Marshawn Lynch.

They will have to be on point to overcome that group, and despite the Johnson touchdown, they looked good again, so that’s a start.

Still, it was the offense that stood out to me. I’d like to see more from Earl Bennett, Devin Hester and Kellen Davis, but overall, it’s humming along.

And if it keeps up, this team is awfully hard to stop.
