While many may doubt the Bears on the field depth, it is difficult to see anyone doubting the organization’s support for their leader.

When news of the untimely passing of Brian Urlacher‘s mother LeVoyda was released, the Bears organization has shown tremendous support.

This continued on Saturday when most of the defense, members of the offense, coaching staff and even ownership made the trip to Lovington, New Mexico to attend the funeral.

Team chairman George McCaskey, president Ted Phillips and others have continued to rally behind Urlacher in this difficult time.

The team must take a flight from New Mexico to New Orleans where they will battle the New Orleans Saints on Sunday as the team tries to move to 2-0.

For now, Brian Urlacher and the rest of the organization are focused on real-life events away from the field.

The effect this has on Urlacher and his teammates remains to be seen. In the past, situations like this have served as an event that united a group to play inspired football as a team and individually.

This experience could be emotionally draining for many involved. It would not be out of the realm of possibility that the Bears could start strong and show some fatigue in the second half.

It is not clear whether Jay Cutler will attend the services. Cutler did tweet his support and condolences for his teammate when the information was first revealed.

Lovie Smith shared his sympathy as he lost his mother earlier this year.  All signs say Urlacher will play on Sunday versus the Saints.
