Brian Urlacher: Date with Jenny McCarthy Proves Bear Is Going Hollywood

It seems that Brian Urlacher has found himself a Playmate. Here’s hoping she doesn’t distract him from bringing a Lombardi Trophy to Chicago for the first time since the 1985 season.
The Chicago Bears linebacker had a dinner date with former Playboy Playmate of the Year Jenny McCarthy at Mastro’s Steakhouse on Tuesday night, according to the Chicago Sun-Times, and afterward, the paparazzi discovered the pair sneaking out the back into a waiting SUV.
Urlacher is now one of two Bears with a celebrity relationship, joining the ranks of teammate Jay Cutler, who is engaged to reality TV star Kristin Cavallari.
This is at least Urlacher’s second foray into the Hollywood dating scene; in 2003, he was reportedly linked to Paris Hilton.
No one is saying that you can’t win a championship if you’re chasing Hollywood stars around, but the Bears desperately need to prove that they should be taken seriously in the NFC North. Chicago finished 8-8 and in third place last year, behind Green Bay and the resurgent Lions.
The Bears defense finished 28th in the league in opponent passing yards, and Urlacher registered three interceptions, 86 tackles and zero sacks.
McCarthy isn’t exactly the kind of Hollywood star who flies under the radar. She ended a very public five-year relationships with actor Jim Carey in 2010, and the two were frequently seen campaigning against vaccinations that they believe gave her son autism.
According to the Christian Post Reporter‘s Brittney R. Villalva, McCarthy recently told Ryan Seacrest in an interview that she wouldn’t mind dating a “chubby, hairy, short or bald” man as long as he was employed and was able to “buy dinners and stuff like that.”
It appears Urlacher meets those exceedingly high standards, particularly the bald part.
Now that Urlacher is going to be 34 and is still chasing a Super Bowl, now may not be the best time to be wooing a former Playmate. First and foremost on all of the Bears’ minds should be improving on that .500 record.
Still, at least McCarthy is a few steps above Paris Hilton, so there’s that.
