Chicago Bears Camp Report

As you all know, Chicago Bears training camp opened this week with the lead story being Brian Urlacher calling Jay Cutler a “pussy” via former Bears wide out and now Minnesota Viking, Bobby Wade.
I’m sure that Wade was trying to stir the pot a little bit by making this public knowledge while I am also sure that Urlacher did say something along those lines. The Bears played it off as if Brian and Jay are best friends and that drama never occurs in their locker room.
Look, I don’t care if they aren’t friends off the field. Please just don’t let the locker room get divided by something as stupid as this and make it turn into something it shouldn’t. After a couple days of camp it seems that this tiff has ended, let’s hope it stays that way.
Charles Tillman’s surgery has created a possible opening for a corner position in the first few weeks of the season if Tillman doesn’t bounce back as quick as he plans.
From the reports of camps in various newspapers, and radio stations it sounds like Nathan Vasher has struggled mightily. Danieal Manning sat out part of practice on Friday night due to cramping, nothing serious, but what is scary is the fact Craig Steltz and Kevin Payne were in a defensive backfield together.
Manning is fine now but this secondary has the potential to be monumentaly bad.
From the sounds of it, Mark Anderson is living on his spin move but nothing else. Four years into the league and that’s still all he has come up with?
Orlando Pace and Chris Williams were both said to have had their way with him during one-on-one drills.
Marcus Harrison (fat) is still overweight and no timetable has been set for his return to day-to-day activities. No word on his exact weight but reports all say it is “considerably heavier than his listed 312”.
Not sure what amount of weight the Bears want him to lose before he puts the pads on but this is disappointing for a guy who appeared in all 16 games a year ago.
