27,793 fans sat through a muggy afternoon at Soldier Field to watch the Bears practice Saturday at Family Day.
Hot and steamy is a nice way of putting it as temperatures reached the mid-90s in the city of Chicago.
Some news and highlights from Saturday:
Zack Bowman was in uniform on Saturday but did not practice.
He was working with Bears director of rehabilitation, Bobby Slater.
Bowman injured his hamstring on Wednesday after impressing during the Bears first week of camp.
Charles Tillman continues to try and get back on the field after his surgery two weeks ago.
He was seen working on his stamina as he was running laps around the field in sweat pants on Saturday. No word yet on when we can expect to see Peanut back.
Daniel Manning was held out of Saturday’s practice while Orlando Pace and Devin Hester returned after missing Friday’s practice.
Hester and Juaquin Iglesias both made some pretty athletic catches during 1-on-1 drills.
In player introductions many of the units were introduced as a group instead of the players coming out individually. Jay Cutler was not one of these as he was introduced by himself last as he ran out to the largest ovation of any player.
Tommie Harris saw more work on Saturday, but in a very limited role.
The more I see, read, and hear, the less and less I expect to see from from #91.
The Bears had an off day on Sunday but return to Bourbonnais on Monday. Practice starts at noon to start off the work week, keep it here for all of your updates.
