Chicago Bears: If You Trade Tight End Greg Olsen, Get the Right Value

Let me start off this article by saying that I am very much against getting rid of tight end Greg Olsen. He is the Bears best passing target and a huge offensive weapon. That being said, it should be new offensive coordinator Mike Martz’s responsibility to put him in a position to succeed.
So, if the Bears REALLY do move forward with this it is extremely important that the Bears get the most value for him. Honestly, can fans really be satisfied if the Bears get a second round pick for him?
He’s been one of Jerry Angelo’s only hits in the first round of the NFL Draft in his time as General Manager. There is no doubt that the Bears are going for the home run in free agency, already agreeing to contracts with TE Brandon Manumaleuna and HB Chester Taylor, with DE Julius Peppers on the horizon.
My proposal for this: get one of New England‘s young, talented offensive linemen. Sebastian Vollmer, the team’s second round pick last season, is very raw, but he stepped in for the injured left tackle, Matt Light and did very well.
If the Bears could swing a trade for him, that would be the only way I could see it being appropriate. They could move him to the right side and be set at tackle for a while.
