Chicago Bears Need Look No Further Than Michael Bush to Replace Matt Forte

While head coach Lovie Smith says that Matt Forte does not have a high ankle sprain (and we all know how honest coaches are) it seems as though the Bears have dodged a huge bullet.
However, if Forte is down for longer than just a week or two, there is no need to panic.
Look up! It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s Super Michael Bush!
Bush may not be as super-humanly good as Forte, but he’s no slouch.
That’s why there is no need to run out and do anything more severe than what has already been done with the signing of Kahlil Bell.
Bell is a depth signing, no more, no less. That is all the Bears need.
If Forte is down for any length of time, the Bears will be fine with Bush. Bush is a big, tough runner who can move between the tackles and runs brutally hard. While the Bears have loved him for his short-yardage ability, they can easily expand his role.
Bush can catch the ball, has decent speed and shows great explosion through the hole. While he won’t be running away from too many defenders, he wears the defense down in a way Forte doesn’t, with a hard running style that punishes tacklers and would actually do a great deal of good for this Bears offense.
Bush running in between the tackles would definitely keep the defense from teeing off on Cutler the way the Packers did last week, and he is also very useful in pass protection.
Even chipping an incoming linebacker or lineman would buy Cutler the time he needs to find Brandon Marshall or another receiver.
There has been some talk that if Forte is hurt, then the Bears should be worried, but the answer is the same one we had when people thought Matt Forte might not play at all this season.
Michael Bush will just put on his cape and save the day.
