Matt Forte continues a light load early on in camp with much of that being because of a hamstring injury that occurred in the off-season. Better safe than sorry with him after how he turned out to be last year, but getting him more used to game speed again soon would only be doing the offense favors. Staying in the backfield, Kevin Jones appears to be his healthiest since prior to tearing his ACL in Detroit.

Nathan Vasher continues to struggle for the Bears early on in Bourbonnais while Zack Bowman continues to impress. Bowman has a pair of picks in camp already and seems like he may be a very good option at corner. Earl Bennett was taking him to the woodshed on Sunday in 7-on-7 drills, catching several balls and burning him deep more than once. Bennett has clicked early on with Jay Cutler, his former quarterback at Vanderbilt. Maybe he will actually see the game field this fall.

The Bears showed off the, “Wildcat” formation with Devin Hester being the quarterback for a play on Sunday, he ran the ball on a keeper in that one snap. The Bears call the formation “Cane” with Hester at QB and “Cajun” when Forte is under center. Rumor has it that Garrett Wolfe may also see reps in this situation.

Lance Briggs and Hunter Hillenmeyer both missed practice on Sunday with “soreness” according to Lovie Smith. Neither sounds like anything too serious, Hillenmeyer won’t be rushed into things after his off-season hernia surgery.

11,000 Bears fans showed up at Olivet Nazarene University on Sunday, a team record. Will that number increase in the next couple of weeks? With the hype only growing I can only imagine so.
