Chicago Bears Should Hire Darrell Bevell as Head Coach

As reported by ESPNChicago.com, the Chicago Bears are down to three finalists for their head coaching position.
The top candidate seems to be Darrell Bevell, the offensive coordinator for the Seattle Seahawks.
The other two candidates receiving second interviews are Marc Trestman, the head coach for the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League, and Bruce Arians, the Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator.
While there are a few names being mentioned as well near the bottom of the article, the Bears should hire Bevell after the Seahawks had a very successful season.
Seattle was near the bottom in passing yards per game, but Bevell was able to get a lot out of rookie quarterback Russell Wilson and established a very efficient rushing attack with both Marshawn Lynch and Robert Turbin. It was one of the more balanced offenses in the league, especially in the second half of the season where they went on a five-game winning streak to finish the regular season.
Imagine how he can help quarterback Jay Cutler, who’s had a lot of struggles the last few seasons with head coach Lovie Smith.
Arians probably won’t be one of the final two. If I had to be critical, I would point out that the Colts were very one-dimensional on offense. While Colts rookie Andrew Luck threw for more than 4,000 yards, that was pretty much all there was.
And while Trestman has two Grey Cups in the CFL, it’s a different game in Canada.
Sure, he has experience with eight NFL teams as an assistant. But I feel that Bevell‘s success with Wilson, Lynch and the receiving core gives him the edge.
But the choice isn’t made by me, or by anyone else who has an opinion in the media. Bears’ general manager Phil Emery has to make that choice.
