When Jay Cutler arrived in Chicago this spring, many wondered what the hit to his ascending fantasy value would be.

Almost immediately, it began to nose dive. No more Brandon Marshall. No more Eddie Royal. No more Tony Scheffler. Heck, no more Mike Shanahan—though that would have been the case in Denver.

Cutler lost a lot of luster in the move. Fantasy experts were bear-ish on the Bears’ passing game most of the spring. But things are starting to look up in the windy city.

Apparently Cutler has been everything the Bears wanted in a quarterback and more through the start of training camp. And now some legitimate receiving weapons are emerging, namely Devin Hester.

A sexy “sleeper” pick in the middle rounds, Hester showed some promise with Kyle Orton under center last season. Now imagine if he begins to develop a rapport with Cutler. That could be a pretty lucrative connection for fantasy owners.

Toss in starting tight end Greg Olsen, and Cutler’s fantasy value is starting to rebound again. This will be a good dynamic to watch during the preseason.
