—End of update—
Hester has had a spotty run as a wide receiver in the NFL. The Bears converted him to the position in his second season to take advantage of his speed and play-making ability with the ball in his hands.
Unfortunately, the experiment has never really panned out. Hester has seen his receptions go from a career-best 57 in 2009 all the way down to 26 last season. He has just two touchdown catches since the start of the 2011 season.
Hester’s value is tied up into his ability as a special teams player, where he has returned 17 kickoffs and punts for touchdowns in his career. Surprisingly, he doesn’t have any special teams touchdowns this season.
We will keep you updated on the status of Hester’s concussion when more information becomes available.
