Alshon Jeffery of the Chicago Bears is a fantasy football sleeper pick for anyone looking for a late-round steal. His combination of size and great hands makes him a must-have on your fantasy football team.
It is that time of the year fantasy geeks!
It is time for people of all parts to unite and gather their draft information to select the players they believe can get them to the fantasy football promise land.
After running backs and quarterbacks have been selected, receivers will be aplenty.
My draft strategy has always been drafting the best running backs available with two of my first three picks. After that, I select the best quarterback. Another running back follows then I am on to the receivers.
For me this strategy works!
Once I see my opponents lobby at the top for the bigger name receivers I strike by getting the top receivers that no one mentions.
Last season it was A.J. Green who had a standout season at receiver, this season it will be the Alshon Jeffery.
Jeffery will be the steal of anyone’s fantasy football league.
At 6’3″, he has the size and the hands to be a big-time target in the red zone. Mismatches should come easily to Jeffery, especially with fellow Bears receiver Brandon Marshall assured to see a steady diet of double-coverage.
Jeffery has shown the ability to find a slither of daylight and a knack for the circus catch. This preseason thus far, Jeffery has eight grabs for 106 yards, and some of his catches have been some of the toughest grabs I’ve seen in quite some time. When Jay Cutler throws in Jeffery’s direction, I expect him to snag in the ball.
So does Cutler. Cutler has shown some trust in him.
His potential for being a consistent, reliable target is what makes Jeffery a must-have for fantasy football owners looking for a steal in their fantasy leagues.
My fantasy football forecast for Jeffery is 40-55 catches, 700-850 yards, with seven touchdowns.
Most people will pass on Jeffery in fantasy football drafts but those are good projections for a rookie. What a better way to start the fantasy football season right.
