Brandon Marshall bounced back from a subpar performance to elevate the Bears to a victory. Marshall had nine catches for 87 yards and two touchdowns.

Jay Cutler was 24-of-36 for 262 yards and no turnovers. 

Final Score

Bears: 27

Giants: 21

Final Analysis

Passing Offense: The passing game cooled off in the second half, but it was still a nice job by Cutler to spread the ball and take care of the football. When the other quarterback has three turnovers, sometimes the best thing you can do is not turn it over yourself. 

Passing Defense: Tim Jennings got the Bears back to their opportunistic ways. Those three interceptions meant everything in the game. The lack of a pass rush still has to be a concern. 

Rushing Offense: A pedestrian performance on the ground for Matt Forte was enough to keep the defense honest and move the chains. 

Rushing Defense: The front seven made Brandon Jacobs look like the Jacobs from five years ago. Just a poor overall job in stopping the run. The injuries have to have taken a toll on a short week.  

Special Teams: Robbie Gould was solid despite Devin Hester getting in his face. There were still some mistakes in the struggling unit. 

Coaching: The Bears came into the game with a solid game plan to protect the football and get it to Brandon Marshall. There are still a lot of holes on defense. Clock management and overall discipline was a little shaky. The extra time between games should be spent on tackling. 

First-Half Analysis

Passing Offense:  Jay Cutler was outstanding and so was his pass protection. He took care of the football, spread the ball around but still found his star receiver when he needed it the most. 

Passing Defense: Two interceptions still out weigh the bad mistake in coverage by Major Wright that led to the Rueben Randle touchdown. There is still no pressure coming from the front four. 

Rushing Offense: The Giants looked like they came into this game gearing up to stop the run. This is probably why the Bears threw it 18 times in the half. Matt Forte has done a nice job grinding yards out on the ground. 

Rushing Defense: The front seven has done a terrible job slowing down Brandon Jacobs. He’s a big back but there is still no excuse for missed tackles and poor gap play. 

Special Teams: A dust up on the sidelines combined with poor kickoff coverage spells another rough half for this unit. 

Coaching: The offense has been strong but problems persist on the defense. They should have went for the early field goal and clock management was not the best at the end of the half.
