Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler expressed his support for United States President-elect Donald Trump on Thursday following Trump’s victory over Hillary Clinton in Tuesday’s election.
According to Zach Zaidman of the Bears Radio Network, Cutler is a believer in Trump’s desire to “Make America Great Again”:
Trump outperformed poll projections Tuesday in a resounding win. He netted more than the requisite 270 Electoral College votes needed to land the presidency.
Cutler has been on an upward swing of his own recently, as he returned from injury in Week 8 and threw for 252 yards and a touchdown in an upset win over the Minnesota Vikings.
The Bears have struggled to a 2-6 start, but with a fairly easy schedule on the horizon featuring games against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New York Giants, Tennessee Titans and San Francisco 49ers over the next four weeks, they have a chance to make some noise.
Chicago has an uphill climb ahead, but if the Bears are going to be great again, stellar play from Cutler is a must.
