Jay Cutler the Bears Forte?

As the Chicago Bears head into a slow draft day, here are a few thoughts for you Bears junkies.
Even with the arrival of Jay Cutler, let’s not forget the strength of a great football team. Aikman had Emmit. Elway had Davis. Warner had Faulk, and more recently, Hightower. All the talk focusing around the Bears is about the wide receiver position. The upgrade from Orton to Cutler will make the existing receivers better, but I think there is a larger concern: the O-line.
Orlando Pace is a solid lineman, but he isn’t getting any younger. Kevin Shaffer isn’t the answer either. Kreutz is the best center in the game, but needs some support. Chris Williams may be a good pick up from last year’s draft, but that remains to be seen.
Matt Forte is going to be a great back. He is elusive, yet strong enough to break through the defensive line into the secondary, where his elusiveness can be displayed. Jay Cutler had some very good passing numbers last year; however, he will be less effective if the running game is not solid.
The Bears need to pick up a wide receiver in free agency and worry about the offensive line during the draft. Sometimes we forget that the Bears have, arguably, the best tight end duo in the NFL. Desmond Clark and Greg Olsen will get their touches. Cutler will have plenty of places to throw the ball this year, including Forte, so shore up that o-line and get excited about next year!
