Kyle Fuller, the talented former Virginia Tech cornerback, was drafted 14th overall by the Chicago Bears in the 2014 NFL draft. Fuller is a talented prospect, and it’s clear that that talent was too much for the Bears to pass up.
Fuller starred for the Hokies during his time there, establishing himself as a force in a talented secondary. Despite missing six games this season due to a sports hernia, the corner was good enough to earn third-team All-ACC honors.
The former Hokie is a natural at corner, displaying incredibly fluid movement and good cover skills. He has a nose for the ball and can keep up with most wideouts with his speed and agility. He can rush the passer well, and he is one of the harder hitters in this draft class.
But Fuller does have his share of warts. He’s not the fastest corner in this class, and his aggressiveness can get him in deep trouble in the pros. His tackling mechanics can break down at times, and he occasionally struggles in run defense.
Will Fuller become the star many see him to be? Or will he go bust? Watch as our draft experts discuss the corner’s ceiling and what he brings to the NFL as a rookie.
