Faced with the possibility of dropping to 2-4 on the season with a loss in Week 6, the Chicago Bears battled hard for a 27-13 road victory over the Atlanta Falcons to remain in the playoff hunt within the NFC North.
The 3-3 Bears currently sit in third place behind the division-leading Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers, both of which are 4-2. Chicago will now turn its attention to the Miami Dolphins, who will be traveling to Soldier Field in Week 7.
The Bears and Dolphins have met 11 times in the past with the Dolphins holding a 7-4 record in the all-time series. The two teams last squared off on Thursday Night Football back in 2010 with the Bears coming away with a 16-0 victory.
The Dolphins are coming off a 27-24 loss to the Green Bay Packers in Week 6, dropping their record to 2-3 on the season.
Quarterback Ryan Tannehill threw for 244 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions, but Aaron Rodgers and company were too much for the Dolphins defense to handle down the stretch. The Packers went 60 yards on 11 plays to score the game-winning touchdown with just three seconds remaining on the clock.
Despite their performance at the end of Sunday’s game, Miami’s defense has been among the league’s best so far this season. They are currently seventh in the league in total defense, allowing 331.6 yards per game and have sacked opposing quarterbacks 14 times this season.
With a showdown against Tom Brady and the New England Patriots looming in Week 8, the Chicago Bears cannot look past this talented, young Miami team.
Here is our Miami Dolphins vs. Chicago Bears preview for Week 7.
