The 2010 NFL Scouting Combine has been drawing most of our attention lately, but it’s time we started focusing on where free agents and trading block candidates could wind up.

There have already been new rumors involving Julius Peppers, Donovan McNabb, and Michael Vick.

That’s right, folks, it’s about to get rowdy in the NFL offseason. Read on for all the latest buzz and reports in the NFL :

Brandon Marshall to Chicago?

Neil Hayes of the Chicago Sun-Times is reporting that a source believes Brandon Marshall will end up playing for the Chicago Bears in 2010.

The Bears are reportedly giving the “okay” on spending big money this offseason to improve the team, and there’s no doubt in our minds that Cutler has been and will continue to lobby for Marshall.

We’re fairly confident Mike Martz wouldn’t mind having a stud receiver to work with, either.

The true issue here is how the Bears and Denver Broncos will work out a trade, as Chicago (at least outwardly) doesn’t have much to offer. However, the teams worked out a solid trade involving Jay Cutler, Kyle Orton, and some draft picks, so it’s not impossible.

Julius Peppers to Chicago, Also?

It is being reported by The Chicago Tribune that the Chicago Bears met with the player rep of former Carolina Panthers‘ defensive end and current free agent, Julius Peppers.

This would be interesting, both because it could be considered tampering, and also because the potential addition of both Brandon Marshall and Peppers could vault the Bears to the top of the NFC North.

There is a lot that needs to be hammered out, and the free agency period hasn’t even officially started yet, but this sure is interesting.

Michael Vick Wants to Play For Carolina Panthers?

In a recent interview, Vick was asked which team he’d most want to play for if given the choice. The former Falcons quarterback said there were two teams on his list, but picked the Panthers as his top option.

He cited the uniforms, a need for a quarterback, and playing against his former team twice a year as his top reasons.

Well, Vick can say whatever he wants, but until the Eagles actually start to show signs of trading him somewhere, he should be prepared to sit on the bench for another season.

At the very least, Carolina seems to be a long shot for Vick, as the team seems content with allowing Jake Delhomme and Matt Moore battle it out in 2010 for the starting job.

Chargers Intent on Trading Antonio Cromartie

Rumors sending Antonio Cromartie to Detroit for Maurice Morris are not true, as the Lions have reportedly turned down the offer, as they value the backup running back more than an inconsistent starting cornerback.

Cromartie has been involved in rumors with the Ravens, Jets, and several other teams, and there is no way in knowing where he’ll end up.

One thing is for certain, it’s almost a done deal that he won’t be returning to San Diego in 2010.

Anquan Boldin Likely to be Traded

It’s been reported on-and-off for the past two seasons that Anquan Boldin could be or is on the trade block, and while it’s hard to tell at times, it appears that he’s officially being shopped.

However, that doesn’t necessarily mean the Arizona Cardinals are hell bent on getting rid of him.

Boldin is 29 and wants a new, big contract, and Arizona doesn’t want to pay him (yet). If they can get a first-round pick or a package of some high picks, the Cardinals are said to be very willing to pull the trigger.

However, due to Boldin’s age and injury history, teams have been reluctant to give up a first-rounder, and even more than just a second-rounder in many cases.

Arizona does not appear willing to give Boldin up for anything less than a package of round two and three picks, and anything less than a third-round pick will not even be discussed.

The current teams that are rumored to be involved in talks are the Miami Dolphins and Baltimore Ravens.
