Patriots Inside Linebacker Brandon Spikes will be suspended for the last four games of the regular season for failing a drug test
Spikes has said that the positive test was due to a medication he was taking, however the substances that Brandon Spikes failed for has not yet been reported.
The bigger story is that Spikes decided to take the suspension immediately, so he could be fresh when the Patriots go to the playoffs run into January.
The Patriots play in Chicago this week and then face the Green Bay Packers, the Buffalo Bills, and the Miami Dolphins.
Brandon Spikes was drafted this year in the second round (62nd).
He has made contributions and strides as the young Patriot defense is learning every week under great coaching.
He has had a few career days already, including a lick on the Vikings Adrian Peterson.
The Chicago Bears will look to expose the secondary of the Patriots if the wind does not become a major factor Sunday afternoon, but the forecast is calling for 30 mph plus winds.
If Chicago fans were calling for “Bear Weather”, they are going to get it. Watch for the Bears offense to run the ball more than they have in the past month.
