The Bears defeat the Ravens over five hours after the game started. Robbie Gould kicks a 38-yard field goal to win the game as the Bears improve to 6-4 and are now tied atop the NFC North with Detroit.

Final Analysis for the Chicago Bears 

Passing Offense: McCown did an outstanding job standing tall in the pocket and taking care of the football. He had the pass of the game to Martellus Bennett in overtime to set up the game-winning field goal. Great job by the offensive line to give McCown protection throughout the game. 

Passing Defense: There were two interceptions including one for a touchdown against Joe Flacco. Julius Peppers had a strong game with two sacks and Flacco was never able to drive the ball down the field at any point. 

Rushing Offense: When the game conditions got sloppy the Bears leaned on Matt Forte and he delivered. He finished with 83 yards on the ground against a stacked box.   

Rushing Defense: Ray Rice had a good game, but the Bears were able to bend and not break against the run. Given the conditions and Rice’s ability to grind out yards, the Bears did a solid job in the second half of limiting the big plays on the ground.  

Special Teams: From Robbie Gould to Adam Podlesh, the kicking game was outstanding. The kick coverage was strong and the Bears excelled against what is usually a strength for the Ravens. 

Coaching: Trestman played to the conditions in the second half and won a chess match against a Super Bowl-winning coach. His play-calling in the second half was underrated but key in this victory. 

First-Half Analysis for the Chicago Bears 

Passing Offense: Josh McCown has done a nice job moving around in the pocket and the team has done well picking up the blitz. Unfortunately McCown was not able to get the ball in the end zone on two separate occasions. 

Passing Defense: Two interceptions and good pressure up front have kept the Bears in this game. Julius Peppers had a great first half, which also saw a great pick-six from David Bass. 

Rushing Offense: Nearly eight yards per rush for Matt Forte is proof the Bears should keep running the ball against Baltimore.  

Rushing Defense: The defense has already given up 70 yards to Ray Rice who was struggling coming into the game. He’s on pace to put up nearly 150 yards on the ground today. 

Special Teams: Robbie Gould has been perfect and the kick and punt coverage have been outstanding. The Bears look very close to forcing a turnover on a punt return. 

Coaching: There were just too many penalties early on. Trestman and his coaching staff need to tighten things up. There were some questionable play-calls when the Bears got down near the goal line that resulted in the team’s first field goal.
