Report: Chicago Bears Extend WR Earl Bennett 4 More Years

The Bears took care of one of their up-and-coming stars today in wide receiver Earl Bennett.
According to ESPNChicago.com, Bennett inked a four-year contract extension worth $18 million today at Halas Hall.
Bennett is in his fourth season with the Bears and was set to be a free agent this offseason.
In 46 career games, Bennett reeled in 118 receptions for 1,554 yards and six touchdowns.
He appeared in 10 games his rookie season but spent all of his time on special teams.
This season, he has only appeared in six games due to a upper body injury that he suffered in Week 2.
But he has bounced back and played very well these past couple of weeks.
Bennett has developed a great chemistry with Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, and the Bears clearly missed him on the field when he was out with his injury.
The new contract keeps Bennett with the Bears through the 2014 season.
It was a well-deserved contract for Bennett considering how he’s played lately.
Look for the Bears to try to wrap up more players before seasons end. Cornerbacks Tim Jennings and Corey Graham will both be unrestricted free agents.
