Now that Torry Holt has gone to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Bears still need to address the need for a veteran wide receiver.
With all the controversy around Plaxico Burress from his gun charges and locker room drama with past coaches this is not the kind of behavior that Chicago welcomes on their team. Look for the Bears to go after veteran wider receiver Amani Toomer.
Toomer is a 13 year vet released during the off season by the Giants. Toomer would be a great asset to any team that would choose to bring him on.
With years of experience he brings play making ability that Chicago needs an a wide receiver. Not having a go to wide out in some time as been hanging over the Bears for some time.
The current wide outs are Devin Hester and Earl Bennett who have great potential, but are not number one receiver ready at this point.
So adding Toomer seems to make sense. Drafting a wide out also address the future need at receiver but doesn’t fix the problem. The Bears need a veteran wide out.
