Somebody with no heart has just robbed 1985 Super Bowl star of the Chicago Bears Willie Gault. I know what you are thinking: There is no way these robbers are sports fans.
Who doesn’t like the ’85 Chicago Bears?I have to think even Patriots fans have had enough time to get over the fact they were beat in Super Bowl XX. So, I can’t see who would rob one of the most beloved former football stars on the marvelous ’85 Bears.
TMZ reports that Willie Gault was robbed recently. The report delves into the extent of the robbery, which is pretty extensive. The thieves with black hearts took $100,000 in jewelry, including the prized ’85 Super Bowl ring.
The ring, “famously boasts 40 diamonds, including a half-carat diamond in the center surrounded by 13 smaller diamonds.”
If you are looking for something that says bling, that would be it. I am sure the robbers are somewhere laughing to themselves as they marvel at a ring that must be no less than spectacular.
Well, I hope they are caught soon so we can see what real treachery looks like. I mean…this is Willie Gault, folks. The reason I used the Chicago Bears in Tecmo Bowl was so I could see the name Willie Gault when I threw a Hail Mary 99 yards.
Okay, I also loved the Bears defense in that game too. Gault has asked friends to monitor eBay and other sites to see if the ring turns up.
Therein raises the best question on the day: How are you going to move Willie Gault’s Super Bowl ring? Even the blackest of hearts will take one look at the grandeur that is Gault’s ring and ask, “Is this Willie Gault’s ring?”
That is when they conclude they cannot rob the former speedster from the Super Bowl Shuffle Bears of his prize. That team is forever ingrained as the most entertaining group of champions, so I expect a hero to step up and return the ring shortly. I will be here playing Tecmo Bowl and waiting.
